Report:
Unfortunately things did not go as smoothly as we had hoped, and we struggled to find game all day.
All credit must be given to guns, judges and the beating team, led by Steward of the Beat Pete Chattaway, who pulled out all the stops to make it possible to reach a result.
In spite of the problems there was a great atmosphere all day, and the good nature of everyone concerned was in itself part of the reason why there
was this dogged determination to get a result after all the hard work.
As a result of this, at the end of the day SPSP very generously gave the day to the Society, and asked that we try them again next year, so that they can do it properly!

Report:
With the rain kindly holding off until the end of the day, the dogs were tested in a variety of situations, including reeds, and open grass and hedges.
Finally we were taken to an area of young plantation with fairly heavy cover under by Steward of the Beat Mick Walton,
when the judges asked if it were possible to have one more small drive to test the remaining dogs marking ability.
This it duly did, and the winner was pronounced a worthy one by the judges when the awards were given.
